“ Araya is one of our favourite places in Markham to get sushi. The staff have always been friendly and courteous to us. All the food we've tried has been tasty (we usually get sushi but we've also tried some of their noodle dishes). For Mother's Day this year we pre-ordered 3 large trays for lunch - this fed 16 of us (10 adults and 6 kids). We did one tray of each type - sashimi, sushi & maki, and all maki. The rolls are pretty massive and that's not because they are just all rice - it's a lot of filling. The fish was nice and fresh according to my siblings who are more sushi connoisseur than myself. We all really enjoyed the food. ”

“ The staff were very nice and the atmosphere was amazing! The food was not bad, but the rice was a bit hard and not really sticky. That is for the rice on the side and the sushi. The vibes are amazing and it's best to come around 11:30AM because the staff might take you to the room in the back. This room has an amazing vibe and if you don't like being in the large open area of a restaurant that place is right for you. There are so many food options here and they all look so good! ”

“ This is a nice gem we found in the Markham area. We visited on a Friday night and they are busy. Restaurant is 50% full and they are preparing for a lots of take out orders. Only one server when we got there and she is running around but manage to keep everyone happy. They have Korean fried chicken on their dine in menu and I love Korean fried chicken and they make it well. Everything we ordered come out at a reasonable time and everything is very presentable. Our family love the quality of their food here. Services is also amazing!!!! They feels like we have to wait for our food for a long time and give us free appetizers to try.... Lovely! When we leave, we are on our way out and they give us a bag of food and said they are free for you to take home..... Wow... Some seaweed salad and some dumplings we can eat the next day! Highly recommended!!! ”

This time, I went with two friends and we shared what I believe was the Sushi Maki Combo (Large, 64 pcs). It came with California rolls, spicy salmon, green dragon, volcano rolls, and assorted sushi. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Definitely one of my go-to spots for sushi in Markham! ”
